Siraj Hashmi, Writer, Commentator, Roca News Contributor - ABOUT

Have you ever thought that someone should take an influencer’s phone away? Whether it is President Trump or a left-leaning journalist, Siraj Hashmi is always on the cutting edge of the absolute worst takes on the Internet. He is the curator of “The List”, an ever-growing list of (ranked!) people who need their phones and social media accounts taken away immediately.

He’s got a podcast and is a contributor to Roca News, a personal favorite news org of mine. Siraj loves talking about his Muslim roots, has an unhealthy obsession with former conservative Jennifer Rubin and has an infinite number of List-themed memes to share. Join in the fun and nominate folks for the list today!

You’ll find his best content and great sense of humor on Twitter here.

A Lib You’ll Love

Alec Stapp, Director of Technology Policy at PPI - ABOUT

While the Progressive Policy Institute might not sound like a friendly organization, I can’t stop agreeing with Alec Stapp, their Director of Technology Policy. He has a healthy respect for free markets, doesn’t trust government overtly like most liberals, and loves economic freedom.

While he and I probably won’t see each other at the next Southern Hills Republican Women’s Club Luncheon, he provides a fresh perspective that trusts that free markets and ever-evolving technologies will make many of our current problems obsolete, unlike many left-leaning thinkers that rely on government to fill the gap. Highly worth the follow! Follow him on Twitter here. PPI is a mixed bag, but I’ve enjoyed their perspectives most of the time too. Here is their Twitter account.

The Best Possible News Sources

Roca News

Roca News is my new favorite thing. I signed up for their newsletter and not only is it simple, but it’s also pretty mellow, too. Unlike most news rundowns I’ve subscribed to, I don’t feel taxed after reading it. Mixed in with the news, they have these unique features on things like Transnistria (look it up!) and the dabbawalas on their Instagram. It’s really well done and they love Jeb! too.

Sign up for their free, not annoying email newsletter, the Roca Rundown, by clicking here.

Ground News

I just don’t understand why no one thought of Ground.News before now. Ground acknowledges and embraces media bias instead of ignoring it like most news aggregators. I’m a big proponent of reading outside your ideology and as I’ve checked Ground more often, I’ve been able to break free of my echo chamber and social media algorithm a little bit.

I think you’re really going to love to see how the news you see is playing to the Left, Center, and Right in real-time. They hooked me by providing a free tool where you can find out how biased your Twitter timeline is and scoring it based on where it is on the spectrum. Mine was pretty centered, but you can try it for your Twitter handle here.

Hot Tip: the app is better than the desktop site, so download that first. There are subscription levels if you’d like, but some of their best stuff is free.
